Professor Sara Hosey

Sara Hosey is the Coordinator of the Women's Studies Project and a professor of English at NCC. She  is a full-time feminist who enjoys being outdoors, reading, and spending time with her kids. 

Professor Natasha Nurse

Natasha Nurse is an Adjunct Professor at NCC, owner and co-founder of Dressing Room 8, Lifestyle Editor of Plus Model Magazine, and the Co-host of WokeNFree. She teaches Introduction to Women Studies. She loves to spend her time writing, watching horror movies, and spending time with her beloved husband, family, and adorable pets. 

Professor Pramila Venkateswaran 

Pramila Venkateswaran, poet laureate of Suffolk County, Long Island, and author of Thirtha (Yuganta Press, 2002) Behind Dark Waters (Plain View Press, 2008), Draw Me Inmost (Stockport Flats, 2009), and Trace (Finishing Line Press, 2011), is an award winning poet who teaches English and Women's Studies at Nassau Community College, NY. She is the 2011 Walt Whitman Birthplace Association Long Island Poet of the Year.


Avid social blogger, Psychology major at Stony Brook University, and NCC alumni, Brandon hopes to become an MSW and/or MPH while pursuing counseling related skills.

Shanice B.

Shanice B. is a former president of the Women Students' Association (WSA) at NCC.  She now attends Smith College.  She likes dogs, pizza, Kanye West, and drag shows. 

Laura Perez 

Although former WSA President Laura Perez is now studying Urban Planning at Queens College, she maintains close ties to Women's Studies at NCC. In addition to spending time reading, writing, and sailing with friends, Laura does a lot of yoga.
